What Is a Crank Hub Bolt Capture?

 

The BMW S55 crank hub assembly is a well-known area of concern on high-performance and heavily modified engines. Increased boost, higher power levels, and aggressive high-RPM downshifts place additional stress on the engine’s rotating assembly and crank hub system.

 

The DGE Crank Hub Bolt Capture (CHBC) is designed to provide an additional layer of protection by mechanically securing the crank hub bolt and helping prevent the bolt from backing out under extreme operating conditions.
